Hi to all and welcome to the
deviant-Arcade headquarters.
Before to introduce you to the
deviant-Arcade let me explain something about this account to avoid every chance of misunderstanding.
This Account isn't a Club:
This account isn't a club or community account 'cause deviant-Arcade isn't a community or a group.
There're no members: so you don't need to join nothing. You can watch this account as a sort of newsletter system or like a report system about every deviant-Arcade news.
This account doesn't exist to submit works, own works.
In our gallery you can find featuring panels with tones of features about deserving artists, stuff for your journals and much more. Everything to help you to share art.
This account provides to feature journals with features, to expose the deviants that have featuring-journal, to expose deserving artists with features
You can find works to fave or comment and deviants to support by means of their journals.
We'll help you in this matter.
The deviant-ARCADE headquarters:
This account exists to collect the rules & the FAQ about
deviant-ARCADE.
To file the names of every deviant interested to join the idea and to expose their featuring-journals just like a sort of database helping people to find faster features and thumbs related to the
deviant-ARCADE.
To submit stamps and supporting stuff about
deviant-Arcade.
To introduce news, info and every kind of initiative related to the project.
To feature deserving artists and to help you to discover amazing works and stuff.
If you're interested to support this idea you can watch us and you can follow the simple rules we provide to explain here.
We've some great tools here to discover art and I mean the DD system, the categories daily reports, the daily ranking system in homepage and a lot of clubs with fetures and suggestions. But it's not enough.
At the moment on dA there're a lot of understimated and unknown talented guys that need to be supported and exposed.
In my personal experience here since my joining day I noticed that the best tool to discover a lot of deviants to watch and to support is our own journal: a powerfull tool that give us the chance to expose art in a capillary way.
I watch a lot of deviants with featuring-journal and I check out daily their pages to follow their suggestions and features discovering day by day a lot of talented guy with brilliant galleries and so many stunning works sometimes really better than DD's or popular works.
Art feed itself with art.
When I see stunning work I feel my self much more motivate to improve my own skills and to increase my art. And I think that it's important for everyone of us to improve ourselves comparing our points of view and our works.
It's time to help us helping the others.
It's time to help art on deviantART.
You know what is a web-ring?
It's a powerfull tool that create a web of links range about a specific theme.
It's frequent for music-band fanpages. A lot of fanpages on the web links themselves offering to the web-surfers the chance to have a lot of pages and websites about their favourite bands to check out. In this way the source it's really great and the mass of news and info becomes endless.
Looking at this web-rings I thought about a deaviantART-ring for features and suggestions about art and artists here to support unknown guys and understimated talented ones.
So with this purpose I start the deviant-ARCADE project: a web-ring inside devianART about featuring-journals and featuring-deviants that want to help deviantART to improve helping the talented ones to be exposed and helping artists to increase with a comparing attitude. Artists that feature artists and that create a link-range about others artists that feature other artists and so on.. it can be an oceanic source to discover art and to make this place much more centered about art.
There're no clubs to join.. no subscription to do.. nothing more but the will to support, to help, to find art between the mass of galleries..
the will to improve deviantART and to improve ourselves.
This is deviant-ARCADE.
deviantARCADE F.A.Q.
GENERAL

What is the
deviant-ARCADE?
We can start from what isn't deviant-Arcade.
# deviant-Arcade isn't a club and you don't need to join a club or to subscribe nothing.
# deviant-Arcade isn't a personal project but something that has the purpose to help artists to have much more exposure and to let people know where to find features and interesting work.
# deviant-Arcade has not moderators, but just a staff of administrators to make this page helpful, everyone that want to support this idea has the same position of the others simply following the few rules to make "the machine" working.
The staff is composed by the administrators that daily work on the page uploading features, stuff and all the material you can find on our page.
# deviant-Arcade doesn't work for increase our own popularity but to increase the sharing attitude on deviantART.

So what is
deviant-Arcade?
deviant-Arcade is a sort of web-ring and we can call it a deviant-ring for sure. Based on blurbs about others artists and a link-range about people that have features on their journal, deviant-Arcade works to let people know where they can find a large thumbs feature about others artists, who are the deviants that offers featuring journals and of course a free chance to join the featuring companies. And is a place where find interesting features about unknown and understimated artists

Is
deviant-ARCADE a project for subscribers only?
No. deviant-ARCADE is a source open to all deviantART members with or without subscription. There're no limits about the will and the need to share art.

How can I join
deviant-Arcade project?
It's really simple:
to start you need to feature others in your journal by means of several thumbs or links, and if you're a really sharing-art-attitude guy you can feature weekly a specific deviant with a blurb about his works and 3 or more thumbs or links from his gallery. If you decide to join the idea you need to update chronologically your features, at last once at week, and you need to do it randomly avoiding to feature always the same people (like friends and popular deviants). Remember that deviant-Arcade works to expose people that deserves more attention and not deviants with million and pageviews.
Of course you can't feature your own works.. but you can feature only others.
It's obvious that in your journal you can have previews from your own gallery but you need to put them in a distinguished way from the deviant-Arcade features.
The second step consists to link in your journal the icons of other deviants that offers features like yours. And this is really important to let deviant-Arcade works. You can link every kind of deviants (you can choose them from your watchers or friends or just randomly going through dA) the only condition requested is that they've features on their journal. You've no limits about the number of featuring-deviants you can link.. the much more important condition are just the features on their journal.
An optional rule can be to link someone that links you. You can send a note to this deviant letting him knows that he's linked on your journal. So he can return you the link adding your icon in his journal and viceversa. it depends from own availability and willingness.. but it's for sure the better way to create a larger range of choices and to have much more journals and features exposed.
Put the wording deviant-ARCADE in your journal and then the icons you want to expose and you're definitely in. To explain what is deviant-ARCADE you can link our headquarters url under the warding, put our icon or expose our stamps..or simply explain that deviant-ARCADE is a web-ring realted to deviantART and to those memebrs that feature artists on their journals.

ABOUT THE WAYS TO FEATURE ARTISTS (subscribers/un-subscribers)

I'm a subscriber what I can do to feature artists on my journal?
You've all the choices possible:
You can put thumbs on your journal using the simple thumb codes: [link] [from the HelpDesk FAQ]
You can add blurbs about your featured artists with thumbs, icons and what you want to display on your journal.
You can choose a single artists per week and feature him in the right way using thumbs and blurbs.
You can do all these things at once if you're really cool.

I'm a subscribers but my subscription is expired, what can I do?
You can follow the simple un-subscriber's ways to feature artists.
You can subscribe for deviantART again.

I'm not a subscriber but a free-memeber, how can i feature artists on my journal?
No problem, you can feature artists in the right way without the thumbnails:
write a blurb about your favourite artists and put some links from his gallery under your review, you've just to paste the url in your journal.
you can add icons in your journal.. use this tool to link your featured artists: [link] [from the HelpDesk FAQ]
then you can follow the same subscriber's ways to feature artists.
These are the few rules to let
deviant-Arcade works.
Marginal note: Don't ask yourself what you can gain from
deviant-Arcade 'cause
deviant-Arcade doesn't work for a personal benefit. The spirit of this project is centered exclusively about the improvement of the sharing attitude on deviantART. For this reason the joining is absolutely free from clubs, subscription and expectations.. it depends just from your will to share with us and from your love for the community.
